The action of the old springtime Is buried deep in her mind And it retreats into The warm green grass arms of July The pale light wanting to breathe Veiled and trying to leave But it retreats into The warm green grass arms of July Words written and then not sung Are about as good as a ladder without any rungs Words written and then not sung Are about as good as a ladder Words written and then not sung Are about as good as a ladder Words written and then not sung Are about as good as a ladder without any rungs Words written and then not sung Are about as good as a ladder without any rungs The action of the old springtime Is buried deep in her mind And it retreats into The warm green grass arms of July The pale light wanting to breathe Veiled and trying to leave But it retreats into The warm green grass arms of July Words written and then not sung Are about as good as a ladder without any rungs Words written and then not sung Are about as good as a ladder without any rungs Words written and then not sung Are about as good as a ladder without any rungs

Cutting through the letters on a sweaty summer night The axis keeps you cold Wait there don't stare Living in the light Another coast is golden Most nights crying for The absolute mistake You can hear it in her tone A constant lowing drone Eaten by an ape With a motorific state We helplessly cry on And on We all find out that it's easier done than said The tricks don't make you bad The kind old woman Who's been there for years Is suddenly overgrown Soften up the willows It's the tree you can't delete My room looking out in between the blades The houses lost their feet

I'll make my break with Jesus but I'll be ok I'll tell him that I like him and all the things he's got to say He'll look concerned and offer me a place to stay And ply me with preachers, friends, relatives and plays Aren't you curious about the scene in heaven? I could score you a spot, y'know, you and your brethren. Then I'll produce my Bible from a totebag from Thirteen I'll slide it across the table, thinking he'll get mean Looking up and down at the book and then My soul, the book, my soul, the book I'm making my break with Jesus, but I'll be ok I've told him that I like him and all the things he's got to say But now its "Wait wait why don't you stay here?" But I'm all "No but man I don't live here" But he said, "Cos it's just not so bad here" "And you would be able to make it work here" I made my break with Jesus and I'm OK I told him that I liked him and all the things he's got to say We cried and cried sitting there at the table He tried and tried to sway me but was unable

Oh my mind is waking up And now I see the part of me That I've been longing to see Oh my mind is waking up And I can see what's left of me And what I'm supposed to be Today it's a drag that my friends are all over the world Nightly can't take it and see them again in the world Oh my mind is closing down And I can see the part of me That I've been longing to see Today it's a drag that my friends are all over the world Nightly can't take it but I'll see them out on the world Oh my mind is closing down And I will be fast asleep Dreaming of you here with me Dreaming of you here with me Dreaming of you here with me

If we are to love then I'll need to decide If the cracks on my window are in or outside The tongue ties and blanks drawn Will let themselves out Convinced that some blue-eyes Will bail your shit out And the Lovedays and the want days Crackle like fire And deep seated filters want badly to Retire You notice the trees and the sunlight Now your feet are suddenly much stronger Than you remember them ever being The smiles come so easily Like the first time you knew That someone on the ground Actually cared about you The Lovedays and the want days Crackle like fire And deep seated filters want badly to Retire If we are to love then I'll need to decide If the cracks on my window are in or outside You notice the trees and the sunlight Now your feet are suddenly much stronger Than you remember them ever being The Lovedays and the want days Crackle like fire And the deep seated filters want badly to Retire The older the road my love The further we'll go

About 1849 America was primed And started thinkin' bout leadin' No pesky history To hinder industry And the factories began steamin’ And every raindrop That falls out of their mouths Is like a tear from God Who is pissed at them anyway A warehouse filled with cakes Tainted by mistakes And then ground up and put into cow feed But those burgers extra-sweet Will knock you off your feet And then you kinda just stop seein’ And every raindrop That falls out of their mouths Is like a tear from God Who is pissed at them anyway We sowed the seeds of love But now from above The rain feels like someone peeing So it's up to us all To pummel them all Until they just stop schemin’ And every raindrop That falls out of their mouths Is like a tear from God Who is pissed at them anyway

Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot, For auld lang syne?

about

This is a collection of recordings that I made with Greg O'Keeffe between roughly 2006-2012 when we both lived in Brooklyn. Our rehearsal space / recording lab was on Prince Street just off the Manhattan Bridge in a building that was trying to convert storage spaces into artist studios while spending as little money as possible to make them habitable.

It was less than ideal for many reasons, but there are so many stories about that building that we'll get into in some of the videos.

As you will hear, these songs cover lots of ground, from thick buzzy electric guitar jams to abstract atmospherics to pure electronic creations to folk songs. I'm restless and curious and my creative pendulum continues to swing from acoustic, human performed songs to completely in-the-box electronic compositions.

This constellation of recordings aren't polished and perfect, but the spirit of these recordings endure despite the occasional clam or a vocal melody that's not quite accurately sung or a section that goes on too long or a lyric that's not 100% fully cooked.

I hope you find these recordings enjoyable and receive them in the spirit that they are offered.
